Black Blood – A Western Tale

The dust settled as the sun broke over the hill to the East. Janice Young let out a deep sigh as one lone tear washed away the dirt from a cattle drive that cost her way too much. Her husband was buried two nights ago after being attacked by bandits. Half her heard was gone to a river that crested too high and were swept away. No longer would Janice have to move the cattle across the county with the rail roads quickly crossing the country side. She looked down at her stomach, now showing only the slightest hint of how pregnant she was, and thought about finally settling down in a permanent home.
